How about getting the best of both worlds at once? This is where the Look Lock comes in, which is a peripheral that will cling to the DSLR’s hot shoe. The other end of the Look Lock will allow it to hold your smartphone, and the best combo to apply would be to have the smartphone perform a video recording while you snap away on your DSLR, or vice versa, depending on whichever floats your boat. The Look Lock will cost $75 if you want something that will inject a bit of creativity into your photo capturing experience.

Smartphone apps for your children's safety
All around the country, kids are back in the gym, the playground and on the field, playing hard. Sometimes, too
But now coaches and parents have some help deciding just how hurt a child might be, especially when it comes to head trauma. They just need a smartphone or tablet and the concussion app, which runs through symptoms and signs to let you know when it's an emergency.
The Concussion App is just one of several designed to help with child safety.
There's also the EpiPen App.
There's also an app from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
There's also the ICE (In Case of Emergency) app to help on the go.
Another app that allows you to store information about your child is from the FBI. It helps in an instant in case your child goes missing. But make sure the phone and/or the apps you use are password-protected.
The use of the apps shouldn't be a substitution for medical advice, but they do provide convenience and bit of peace of mind.
It is critical to keep in mind these apps are not intended to replace professional advice.
Concussion App
Epipen App
Symptom Checker App

God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him
You can win more friends with your ears than you can with your mouth!
When God allows a burden to be put upon you, He will put his arms underneath you to help you carry it.
Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean.
Worry is like a rocking chair--it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere.
In prayer you communicate with God, in meditation God communicates with you.
A weird thing about humans is we work till we're sick to get a fortune, then pay a fortune to get well again.
God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.

6 Steps to Master your Emotions
It is like cultivating your own garden in a way. What you plant will grow and thrive in whatever conditions. Similarly we need to develop habits or regular pattern of planting good emotions to feel positive and powerful to handle things around us.
1. Recognise your feelings – are they negative , do you feel overwhelmed or attacked or overloaded -- just ask yourself - ‘What am I feeling right now?’ Am I angry or frustrated? Then take a moment to question your emotions. Start to reason and begin to reduce the intensity of your negative emotions to deal with the situation more quickly and easily. Keep in mind the 10 positive powerful emotions listed to help get to the right frame of thinking.
2. Accept and Appreciate your emotions – Don’t destroy your feelings by wrongful communications with yourself. Begin to accept that you have right to feel the way you feel at times because of circumstances. However appreciate that now you are totally aware and can control your emotions – you can change your thinking patterns and the way you approach the situations. As every child needs attention, you will find this steps helps to calm you down eventually to look at the positive angle.
3. Understand and Analyse the message – you are getting or thinking through. This is to help you break the habit of negative emotional states you get into immediately under certain conditions. Check out your feelings and challenge them if valid for those situations. This is to prevent the same happening again and again form occurring in future. It is literally conditioning you to think better than just misinterpreting things.
Four great questions to ask:
a) What must I really feel to handle it better?
b) What belief do I need to develop to feel that way?
c) Am I willing to create the right solution and handle it properly to get results?
d) What will I gain from this? Or how will it benefit me?
4. Stay Confident – this step is important as it need to be carried throughout. Things do wrong at times but it is crucial not to lose hope and faith in yourself. Develop confidence and keep it till you achieve the desired results.
5. Give Assurance to yourself – that you have ability to solve things and develop positive powerful emotions to get expected outcomes. Furthermore, keep assuring that you cannot only do it this time but also every time such condition prevails. Repeating yourself will to develop assurance and overcome negativity.
6. Become Passionate to take action – don’t be a coward – just go for it. Excitement is important to move you forward – so get passionate about winning people, situations or even circumstances that challenge you. Passion is the leverage that gets you in the driving seat to steer you to your goals of happiness.
So begin to kill the weds in your garden before they become giants to control you and your life.

ITU-T G.812
Timing requirements of slave clocks suitable for use as node clocks in synchronization networks
This Recommendation outlines minimum requirements for timing devices used as node clocks in synchronization networks. The function of a node clock is to select one of the external synchronization links coming into a telecommunications station as the active synchronization reference, to attenuate its jitter and wander and subsequently to distribute the reference to the telecommunication equipment in the station. The requirements in this Recommendation apply under the normal environmental conditions specified for telecommunications equipment.
This Recommendation specifies node clocks suitable for use in SDH and PSTN network applications. They may provide acceptable performance for other applications, but that has to be investigated for each case individually. In normal operation, a node clock is operating as a slave clock, traceable to a primary reference clock. For purposes of redundancy, a node clock will in general have multiple reference inputs. In the event that all links between the master(s) and the node clock fail, the node clock should be capable of maintaining operation within prescribed performance limits (the hold-over mode of operation).
A node clock can be a separate piece of equipment called a Stand Alone Synchronization Equipment (SASE) or it can be a part of another equipment such as a telephony exchange or an SDH cross-connect.

The power of words…
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?” The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
Moral: There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day. So be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words… it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way.

Out of the Box-short story
To solve this problem, fishing companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen and they did not like frozen fish.
The frozen fish brought a lower price. So fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, the fish stopped moving. They were tired and dull, but alive. Unfortunately, the Japanese could still taste the difference. Because the fish did not move for days, they lost their fresh-fish taste. The Japanese preferred the lively taste of fresh fish, not sluggish fish.
So how did Japanese fishing companies solve this problem? How do they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan?
To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks. But now they add a small sharkto each tank. The shark eats a few fish, but most of the fish arrive in a very lively state. The fish are challenged.
Moral:
Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired & dull, so we need a Shark in our life to keep us awake and moving? Basically in our lives Sharks are new challenges to keep us active and taste better...
The more intelligent, persistent and competent you are, the more you enjoy a challenge. If your challenges are the correct size, and if you are steadily conquering those challenges, you are Conqueror. You think of your challenges and get energized. You are excited to try new solutions.

Seven Chakra
Chakra Seven:
Thought, Universal identity, oriented to self-knowledge
This is the crown chakra that relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss.
Chakra Six:
Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection
This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us "see the big picture."
Chakra Five:
Sound, Creative identity, oriented to self-expression
This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language.
Chakra Four:
Air, Social identity, oriented to self-acceptance
This chakra is called the heart chakra and is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is related to love and is the integrator of opposites in the psyche: mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, have a deep sense of peace and centeredness
Chakra Three:
Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition
This chakra is known as the power chakra, located in the solar plexus. It rules our personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism. When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power.
Chakra Two:
Water, Emotional identity, oriented to self-gratification
accept change.
Earth, Physical identity, oriented to self-preservation

Yoga as Preventive Therapy
Image by Getty Images via Daylife
From years of experience, I’ve discovered that Yoga helps bring natural order and balance to the neuro-hormones and metabolism in the body. Simultaneously, these practices improve endocrine metabolism, thereby providing you with a preventive shield. That’s what I also call my Curative Value
I believe it works like this: Yogasanas activate the energies that have accumulated and stagnated in the energy pockets of your body and since left inert, these energies create various ailments. Pranayama, or Yogic breathing exercises cleanse your body, mind and consciousness by venting toxins from the body. Then there are Yogic kriyas, cleansing techniques that rid the body of free radicals.
Yoga, I’ve found, also succeeds in integrating all aspects of action, wisdom, and peace into one. It aims at integration on three levels: Psychic integration, of the various facets of the self; Cosmic integration, of the aspects of the universe; and Existential integration that comes only when one fully realizes that the Self and the universe are one.
Believe it or not, Yoga can actually help reduce pain by helping your brain regulate the secretion of natural painkillers into the body? Pranayama, or breathing exercises commonly used in Yoga mostly help in this. The muscles tend to relax as you exhale; so lengthening your time of exhalationpain management. can help induce relaxation and reduce tension. Maintaining a certain awareness of one’s own breath helps achieve calmer, slower respiration and assists in relaxation and
Yoga can be a rewarding preventive therapy; a life-long activity that promotes health and maintains functions of organs as you age. It can be a part of almost everyone’s fitness plan as the different types of Yoga and the opportunities to advance and improve are boundless.

Meditation -To Bring the Mind Home
Image by alicepopkorn ( in and out ) via Flickr
Meditation -To Bring the Mind Home
Today we generally waste our life in endless activity, struggle, aggressive competition and achievement. Meditation is the exact opposite. To meditate is to make a complete break with how we normally operate, it is a state free of all cares and concerns.
The heart of meditation
In the stillness of meditation, we return to that inner nature that we have so long ago lost in the busy and chaotic distractions our mind is subjected to each day. The heart of meditation is to bring the mind home, release and relax.
- To bring the mind home means to turn your mind inward and to rest in the nature of mind.
- To release means to release mind from its prison of grasping, since you recognize that all pain, fear and distress arise from the craving of the grasping mind.
- To relax means to relax your mind into your true nature, letting all thoughts and emotions naturally subside and dissolve into the state of the nature of mind.
Meditation in a nutshell
I don't think it is possible to relate what meditation is in a nut shell but here is my feeble try: "Quietly sitting, body still, speech silent, mind at peace, let thoughts and emotions, whatever rises, come and go, not clinging to anything".
A Reiki meditation
Strictly speaking I am not sure this can be called a meditation but I cannot think of a better name so I will still refer to it as a Reiki meditation.
There are many types of meditations the three methods that seems most effective in the Western world are watching the breath, using an object and reciting a mantra. In this simple Reiki meditation one could say one uses the last two: object in the Reiki symbols and mantra in the names of the Reiki symbols. This is a very forceful and effective meditation that gives relaxation, mental calmness, clarity, increased ability to visualize, clairvoyance, increased healing power and a wider conciousness. It can also be used to solve problems or reach goals and it surrounds you with healing Reiki energy.
Here is how to do it:
- Sit comfortably, either on a cushion with legs folded or on a straight back chair. Keep your spine erect (without force). If you are sitting on a chair do not lean back. Rub your hand together and put your hands on your knees or on another place comfortable for you.
- Relax and breath slowly, think about Reiki.
- Draw the Power symbol in front of you with your whole hand. Visualize how a white or violet light comes out trough your fingers as you draw the symbol in the air in front of you.
- Visualize the symbol in the third eye chakra an recite its name three times. Keep the symbol steadily in your third eye.
- When you feel that you have meditated enough on this symbol let it float up into a field of light above your head. Return your consciousness to the third eye chakra.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 with the Mental/Emotional symbol and the Distance symbol.
- When you are finished meditating on the three symbols you will be concentrated and full of healing Reiki energy. You can now continue with the final part of the meditation where you can send Reiki to your projects, goals or healing others at a distance.
- Send Reiki by visualizing or describing the object, goals or person. You can use the method you have learned or the one you feel is most suitable to you.
- When finished, slowly relax and release all thoughts. Sit quietly for a few minutes and enjoy the peace.
- Rub your hands together and "wash" your face with them. Open your eyes, walk a few steps and feel how refreshed you are.
Here are a few tips:
Make sure you have a quiet and undisturbed place. I will once again stress that you should keep your back straight to receive the most benefit from any meditation. At step 2 you can ask for help from your Reiki guides and thank them when you are finished. Practice seeing the symbols in front of you, this helps whenever you use Reiki.

Lessons We Learn From Geese
Fact 1:
As each goose flaps its wings it creates an "uplift" for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.
Lesson:
People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
Fact 2:
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.
Lesson:
If we have as much sense as a goose we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.
Fact 3:
When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose flies to the point position.
Lesson:
It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other's skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents or resources.
Fact 4:
The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
Lesson:
We need to make sure honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement the production is much greater. The power of encouragement (to stand by one's heart or core values and encourage the heart and core of others) is the quality of honking we seek.
Fact 5:
When a goose gets sick, wounded, or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation or catch up with the flock.
Lesson:
If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.
Hope the learnings are useful

Magnetized Oils
Oil can be magnetized in an approximately similar fashion as of magnetization of water with the exception that the oils need a longer duration of exposure to magnets in order to assimilate the beneficial properties of the latter.
Oils are prepared either on the North Pole or the South Pole and hence are of two types only. Mixed oil is not used as the oils are used as for external application only. The use of blue and red oils in naturopathy are designated as such `cause these are prepared in blue or red bottles and exposed to sunlight for a minimum of 21 days to imbibe cooling or heating properties of the sun`s radiation passing through particular colors. These oils are used against a number of infections like boils, fever, headache and rheumatic pains.
Following a similar principle, the magneto therapists utilize the natural potency of magnetism, which has made it possible to use the immense healing properties of the oils.North Pole Oil:
To obtain North-pole oil:
South-Pole oil: South Pole oil is prepared in the same way as that of the north-pole oil except that the bottle filled with any of the two oils mentioned under the north-pole oil should be kept over the south pole of a strong magnet for 15 days. Prepare the oil and label it `South-pole Oil`. South-pole oil is highly effective in non-infectious affections like sciatica, cervical spondylitis, arthritis, lumbago, painful inflammations and sprains and strains. Method of Applying Magnetized Oil: Although Magnetized oils can be used independently; they are generally used during magnetic treatment, as in the case of cure for whooping cough and pneumonia. Before applying the oil, clean the infected portion properly and lightly rub the north or South Pole oil over it. A piece of cloth or napkin is placed over the oiled portion. Then the magnet is placed accordingly. Magnetization of Other Substances: Fluids other than water can also be magnetized for treatment. Consumable products like milk, beer and wine can be magnetized with similar types of magnets. The duration of exposure of these substances may be restricted to an hour or so as these are consumed in large quantities. Other substances like rose water can also be magnetized for about 12 hours, and can be used as eye drops in infections such as conjunctivitis, sore eyes and ophthalmia. Glycerin can also be magnetized with the South Pole to use for either as throat pain or against fissures, chaps and cracks of the skin. Many homeopathic physicians in India magnetize various homoeopathic ointments and mother tinctures based on the firm belief that such treated ointments are more effective and have a better penetrating power in several skin conditions. Substances used for cosmetic purposes such as shampoos are also often magnetized for treatment against dandruff and hair fall. Hair oils can also undergo magnetization process for improved growth and lustre of hair. Mouth washes; Eardrops, and skin oil are some instances of innumerable possibilities of using magnets and hence better products. |

Motivational Story - #Priceless Words
He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table.
He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house.
He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table. "Honey, breakfast is on the table, I left early to go grocery shopping. Love You!"
Totally shocked with the note , he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper.
His son is also at the table, eating. He asks, "Son, what happened last night?"
His son says, "Well, you came home around 3 AM, drunk and delirious.
Broke some crockery, puked in the hall, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door". Confused, the man asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me? I should expect a big quarrel with her!"
His son replies, "Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your clothes n shoes off, you said, "LADY LEAVE ME ALONE! I'M MARRIED!"
Moral : Self-induced hangover - $ 400.00
Broken crockery - $ 800.00
Breakfast - $ 10.00

He announced that in their seminar folder, there is PVC pouch and in it there is a seed. When they return, they must put it in a good soil in a pot and look after it very well.
He would hold a competition in the next year's seminar and that the best plants would be awarded suitably.
Everyone did what was told to him. A year passed quickly. And next year in a big hall, there were hundreds of pots and a great variety of plants-a great scene.
Except one pot in which the soil was there and no plant! The owner was standing quietly and seemingly ashamed of himself!
The general manager called him on the stage. He asked him what happened and he told him the truth. He planted the seed which he was given – and did that was to be done- but nothing happened!
The general manager declared him the winner!
Everyone was shocked. It was announced, "Gentlemen! The seeds I gave you were boiled seeds. You planted them and nothing happened! You acted smartly and used some other seeds.
This man was honest to his work and, therefore he did not cheat me or himself!"

Preparation of Flower Remedies
Image via Wikipedia
The two types of methods in flower remedies are-
1.Sun Method : Dr. Bach found that the curative properties of plants are localized in the flower heads. He expanded the principle and was sure that the dew that is accumulated on the flowers also possesses some of the curative properties. In order to prove himself right he collected the dew that actually was deposited over the flowers and tested them. Dr. Bach discovered that the essence of the flowers is also present in the dewdrops also but the flower essence is more potent in the dewdrops that are exposed to sun.
Practically, it is not possible to collect so many dewdrops. So, in real life the flowers are placed in the jar containing clear water of stream and this is left in the sun. After a few hours, the extracts of flowers ooze out into the water.
2. Boiling Method : Boiling method is almost as same as sun method. Here the flower is placed in the jar containing clear water of the stream and then it is boiled. The flower extract pass out in the water. But there is one restriction in the boiling method. It cannot be used for the flowers that are heat sensitive.
